Nice-sized city car with ample power, high-quality interior and attractive looks. Relatively quiet and comfortable. Bought used from Acura w/ 64k miles. Subsequent repairs/replacement that are endemic to this car as you'll learn on the internet. Purge value in the evap system, easy fix. O-rings on the hydraulic steering system (loud sound on cold mornings that goes away as engine warms, an easy fix). Hydraulic shocks/struts for the hood, easy fix. O2 sensors, a bit trickier fix. Check YouTube for demos on replacing these items and save big, big bucks over expensive Acura dealers. The nav system is not intuitive, and if it has the original DVD, you'll pay like $170 for an upgrade that is, unfortunately, probably worth it. The upgrade has all U.S. major roads and city streets. The origin... (more)
Story
The first test drive sold me on the car's feel and driving dynamics. I'm 5' 11" and the car fits me like a glove. I like the view from the driver's seat, the powertrain's responsiveness and the look of the tan leather interior. I also test drove the redesigned 2009 model and definitely prefer the 2008 since it fits better. Piece of advice: Be ready to spring for a new set of Michelins when you... (more)
Pros
The engine and transmission are fabulous. They work very well together and give you the closest thing to the sports car experience you will get this side of a manual transmission. The engine sound is great, even at idle. A slight engine growl comes up through the steering wheel letting you know the car is ready to take on the road. Shifts are very smooth and immediate unlike many other cars that seem to lag. I rarely feel any torque steer and feel this criticism is unjustified. In fact, the front drive system is an asset in Michigan since it will do better in snow. The sound system is as g... (more)
Cons
There are only two areas preventing this car from being perfect in my book: The Bluetooth system and the ride quality. The Bluetooth system is a bit clumsy with my phone. You have to realize there are two phonebooks, one that is your phone download and one that resides in the car itself. Your ability to voice dial depends on where exactly your contact resides. The manual is not clear in this area. The ride is a bit harsh in my view. You get used to it, but when I drive another car, I find myself relaxing a bit more. The TL's ride is the price you pay for razor sharp handling and a great co... (more)

This car is amazing. If you can afford a car at this price point, this is the best that money can buy. It drives like luxury limo with good fuel in economy mode and converts to sport agile performance sedan in sport mode. Fuel economy is even better than advertised. There is a lot of technology and a learning curve but eventually you get a good use of most of the features. Interior is super quiet while driving, and it has a buttery smooth transmission. However when you push it hard, it gives you roaring sound. I-4 was also impressive but feels peppy and sporty without that luxury feel of V6. AWD is awesome too. Highly recommended. Awesome build quality. Bluetooth. Make sure your phone is compatible! Apparently, I am hearing that Acura is not the fastest brand out there to update their ... (more)
Pros
The technology you get in the advance package is incredible. If you are a tech geek, you can't go wrong with the TLX. Adaptive cruise control—once you try it out, it will be your top feature as well. Air conditioned seats—no more sweaty bums. Multi-view rearview display. Camera views—exact line indicators. Multi displays—I read some reviews that knock the redundant displays, but in my opinion, I love the redundancy. I love having a touchscreen and a screen dedicated to the navigation. The haptic feedback on the touchscreen is a nice addition as well.
Cons
I would have loved to have seen Apple's CarPlay in the TLX. Siri's eyes free is cool, but it's no CarPlay. I certainly hope we get a firmware update that allows us to upgrade to CarPlay support. I wish there was more of an exterior differentiator between the base model and the more advanced models, albeit, the all-wheel drive version does have an SH-AWD emblem on the bumper.

This car is the perfect car for any driver. It handles very well and is extremely reliable on the road. Additionally, I leased the car with the tech package, and it's so much fun to drive. The GPS, navigation, and hands-free assist for my phone are so easy to use. The car is also very comfortable. My friends and family enjoy going on extended or longer drives in my vehicle. In fact, it's usually the first choice amongst my group of friends (good and bad).
Story
I went for a beach trip with my girlfriend. We hit a huge rain storm on our way home, however, the handling was firm, and we felt safe the entire duration of the storm.
Pros
The tech package is a huge plus but it does increase the cost. Add-ons aside, my favorite features of the TLX are the power, steering, and handling. The car is a sedan, but handles like a two door. Additionally, there is so much space that I always have room for beach stuff and two or three sets of golf clubs. And the curb appeal is tremendous. The wheels are sporty and the headlights/taillights accentuate the details of the body. As mentioned above, the ride is extremely comfortable. The leather seats and climate control allow for a range of different preferences no matter how snobby your... (more)
Cons
The gas mileage for city driving is a bit low (21mpg) so I could see how a subset of people could be turned off about this feature.
