I presently own a 2002 Acura MDX base model. I first purchased a car brand new in 2002. I have never owned a sport utility vehicle so I did not know what to expect. At first sight the vehicle appeared pretty large but after driving I quickly adjusted to the size. I soon realized that the size was it to my advantage Because it provided protection. I also liked being higher seated so that I can look out at a further distance of the traffic. After having the vehicle for several years I realize that the build quality of the car was exceptional. The car is now 15 years old and all the accessories or still in working order. However there has been some wear and tear on the vehicle but I had quickly brought the vehicle in for maintenance service. All the electronic components including the ste... (more)
Story
One of the most memorable stories that I can remember having this vehicle is when we took a family trip from Connecticut to Disney World in Florida. The vehicle performed great. We all had a great time With plenty of pictures to share that also included the Acura MDX.
Pros
What I like most about this vehicle is that it can seat seven passengers and has plenty of storage and because of its size can provide plenty of protection in the event of an accident.
Cons
The cons of this vehicle is in regards to the fuel consumption. The vehicle is only averaging about 18 to miles per gallon in the city and approximately 21 miles per gallon on the highway.

2002 Acura MDX - This car is an okay purchase.

This car is an older model car, so it has a lot of wear and tear on it. It has held up reasonably well, though it's beginning to get a bad transmission on it. I like that is a three row vehicle and has a lot of space. I don't like that all the rows don't fold down flat.
Story
When my husband drove the car for the first time he backed into our trash cans.
Pros
One of my favorite things about this vehicle is it's third row seating and how it has a lot of space for all my groceries. I also like that it has air conditioning control for the second row seat to control. It also drives and handles really well, taking bumps and curves effortlessly. I like how it has a fully functioning sunroof and automatic locks and windows. There is also an in dash computer that has a compass, temperature display, and a miles per gallon meter. Another thing I like about this car is it has plenty of cup holders and quite a lot of storage space in the center console. I ... (more)
Cons
Things that I dislike about this vehicle is that it requires premium gas, since not all gas stations carry it. It also doesn't get very great miles per gallon, so it makes gas extra expensive. I don't like how not every row of seats fold flat.
