The Acura ILX is a great introduction vehicle to the world of sports cars. It has 150 to 201 horse power. In a way it feels like a upgraded Honda Civic. The transmission is a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic which is a rarity in a world where automatic cars have taken over the sports car industry. As such it's one of the few stick shift cars available at an affordable price. Definitely gives a race car feel, especially if you are a fan of playing with the clutch. At around $32,810, the ILX is a great entry-level sports car.
Story
We recently did a short road trip from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay. The ride is pretty is smooth, if you know what you are doing. There isn't much road to fully test out the speed and power of the car, but it is there. But, once in awhile, you can feel the added torque.
Pros
Smooth transmission, great value, fun to drive, and fuel efficient.
Cons
Not all-wheel drive and upgraded engine does not offer an automatic transmission.
